As Vice President, JetBlue University, Steve oversees JetBlue’s award-winning training programs, leading teams in Orlando, Salt Lake City and New York. He also oversees the Lodge operation at JetBlue’s Orlando Support Campus. Steve supports JBU’s talented Faculty, ensuring that Crewmembers in its six colleges are equipped with the knowledge and skills to support the business, execute our operational strategy and bring the JetBlue experience to life.

Prior to joining JetBlue, Steve served as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Operations for Virgin America, where he was responsible for day-to-day operations for airports, flight operations, maintenance, guest services, FAA regulatory affairs, safety, security and the operations control center. Prior to his time at Virgin, he served as General Manager of GE PBN Services, a division of GE Aviation, and was President, CEO and COO of its predecessor, Naverus Corporation, a pioneer in performance-based navigation technologies for air traffic management.

A veteran of the commercial airline industry, Steve began his career at United Airlines where he served nearly three decades beginning as a line pilot and culminating in the role of Senior Vice President of Flight Operations and Director of Operations. 

Steve holds a BA in Journalism and English, and an MBA, both from the University of Arizona. He is type rated in a variety of jet aircraft, including the A320 series of aircraft operated by JetBlue.
