Airline Passengers' Bill of Rights
Timothy M. Ravich recently appeared on Seattle National Public Radio to discuss the recent outcry for an airline passengers’ bill of rights. The call for stronger consumer protection in the airline industry arose after passengers in New York sat on airplanes on the tarmac for more than 10 hours in a snowstorm. Mr. Ravich offered a counterpoint to the Coalition for an Airline Passengers’ Bill of Rights by discussing his article “Re-Regulation and Airline Passengers Rights,” which was published in the Journal of Air Law and Commerce. Mr. Ravich argued that market forces, not federal legislation, should dictate airline customer service. Mr. Ravich is a member of the Greater Miami Aviation Association and Chair of its Legal Committee. He is a commercial trial lawyer with the law firm of Clarke, Silverglate & Campell, P.A. in Miami, Florida. (A recording of “The Conversation” is attached here. The viewable article is available here)
