Perishables Logistics Workshop

The next Perishables Logistics Road Show will consist of two traveling, one-day seminars on exporting perishables to the US and the European Union and will be held in Costa Rica and Honduras (July 2005).

Miami International Airport’s Marketing Division spearheaded and continues to organize The Perishables Logistics Committee which is comprised of MIA’s business partners and includes representatives of the federal agencies involved with perishables (USDA, FDA and CBP), Trade Commissioners/Commercial Attachés of countries that deal heavily in the perishables trade, and freight forwarders, cargo airlines personnel, an inspection service company, a fumigation company, and a refrigerated trucking firm. The committee generally meets monthly with its sole purpose to stimulate and promote our perishables trade. To that end, we hold Road Shows in various Latin American countries to facilitate the movement of perishables (fruits/vegetables, cut-flowers/ plants and seafood) through the global logistics supply chain to markets in the US and the European Union.
