Vanessa Rohwedder

My name is Vanessa Rohwedder and I was born in Brazil, and raised in Miami, Florida. I speak three languages and enjoy traveling and learning about as many things as I can. I have always loved aviation and as a result my goal is to become a pilot and make that my career. I am a graduate of Miami Dade College and will soon be graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Various work and volunteer experiences have allowed me to participate in many different areas of the aviation field. As a contractor for NASA I was able to travel to Africa and work as part of a hurricane field research mission with NASA's DC-8 aircraft. In the future I would like to return to work for NASA as a pilot flying similar research missions.

I hope to continue my involvement with the aviation community, and I think that associations such as the GMAA are crucial to our industry. I am mindful of the opportunities that have presented themselves since becoming a member of the GMAA, and I am grateful for the recognition and generosity of their scholarship program.
